In the context of Erasmus, at BAU University, in Barcelona, we were briefed to create an imaginary music festival, together with the development of a promotional flyer for the event. Not wanting to just stick with the flyer, I ended up having fun doing the rest of the visual identity as well, developing a series of new applications for the Festival. “Jazz and Grass” was the name chosen for the event, intending to invite contemporary artists from all over the world, with jazz influences, to play in some of the most beautiful gardens in Barcelona.
The festival intends to balance renowned artists, with some more unknown names. From traditional jazz artists such as Kamasi Washington or Badbadnotgood to artists more Hip-Hop oriented, such as Mick Jenkins or De La Soul. The line-up has artists from all over the world, so I tried to represent this diversity of names by creating a diverse, colorful, and playful design, bringing together distinct, out-of-the-box typefaces and contrasting color combinations in an eye-catching gradient.
